washer fluid check light

those of you who wanted to remove your washer fluid tank but dpnt want the anoyying check light to stay on i took mine out then cut of the sensor and stripped the wire and twisted together and finished it off with electrical tape and walla! no more check light.

So let me get this straight, you removed the washer motor, cut the wires going to it and taped them together, is this correct? I removed my check panel the other day and was about to cut off the led since it has been anoying the hell out of me.

no. dont touch the motor! you might want to use that peice again. there is a sensor on the side of the tank, it clips onto the tank and simply clips off. since it is already uncliped cuz you took out the tank it should be siting there. unwrap the tape around it and cut about 2 iinches below the sensor clip. then strip the wires and twist together.

I still have the tank in. So i guess i will see this sensor when i remove the tank from he car. My washer motor is dead so this is why i want to remove the tank and therefore thought this was the piece i had to cut off. I'll give it a shot later on today. Thanks.

yea thats y i took mine out. its not a very big weight loss, like 5 lbs the most, its just crap sitting there useless so i ripped it out.

What did you do with the motor? Did you just leave it sitting in there?

yea left it iin there until i figure out how to remove it with out killing other things, cuz it looks like it is connected to some other stuff.

I tried this with the brake sensor, because I kinda messed it up one time. But it didn't work!! I'd like to take my washer fluid stuff out too since I don't have the nozzles on my hood anymore. But are you sure it works?
