Removing Stripes on 1996 328i

My parents just bought a 1996 BMW 328i, and on each side there are two stripes that ruin the looks of the car. i was wondering how should i go by taking these off without hurting the surface?

I have been wondering the same thing. My friend took the pin-stripes off of his Civic, but it left a white haze where they were.

Yeah does it really? They seem pretty metal to me.

most of them are just plastic and have a metal look. once you get an edge going, the rest should peel off because it's just a sticker. if you get a haze where the stripes were, use some glaze or wax to blend it into the paint. it should rub out the haze or discoloration.

if they are actually metal, they are just stuck on by an adhesive and should start peeling after you get an end going.

If the paint is discolored or oxidized at all where the stripes were, it might take a fairly aggressive polish to bring back the original color. It really depends.
