Paint Job?

How much would a paint job for a civic for example cost in North Jersey?

That's like asking how much a hotel room costs. There is so much difference in quality of paint jobs that you have to be much more specific. You can go to Maaco and get the $229 special, or you can get a show car quality paint job for $10-20,000.

Well I don't want to spend too much but I want it to look clean, i'm thinking about it being painted black. Just a good quality paint job.

Anyways if you want to change colors you need to sand off the first colored layers and respray the new color then clear coat it

A decent paint job will run you probably a couple of thousand of dollars.

for a black civic probably 2500 to 4000. black is fairly easy to paint so you might get it cheaper. don't go to some crappy joe schmo body shop though. get it done right or else you'll regret it.
