What's the proper technique to use the clay bar? I have a lot of little white spots on my front bumper and hood. How long did it take you to do it? I've bought a clay bar a while ago, but it didn't work right for me. Does it really take off all the crap? After you use the clay on one part, do you just pick it up and move to another part? I'm assuming that you fold the clay in and use a new part. But won't the stuff that the clay bar picks up scratch the paint? Thanks for the help.

I used mother's claybar and quick detailer, which come as a kit. It really made a big difference for me, made my 11 year old car look like it was straight out of the showroom. I washed and dried the car very thouroughly first, and then clayed the car one 2' by 2' section at a time. Spray a 2' by 2' area with quick detailer, and then run the claybar over it while it's still wet. You can tell when the clay stops picking up stuff, and it begins to just glide over the paint. The bar does pick up crap, but you can see the big chunks of stuff in the yellow clay, and pick them out. Then fold the clay until you get a clean section, and move on. it took about 2 hours, not counting washing before and waxing afterward.

when you use clay, mix a little car soap into a spray bottle with some water. spray a small area and run the clay over the area. when finished with the area, flip the clay over and repeat. If you need more details, just ask. I am a professional detailer.
