| whats a good place to get Focal's on the net? i'm lookin at gettin a pair of the 100cv's (maybe v2's cant justify putting components in the rear yet) for my rears. also would a person need to trim the mount for the fronts if i were to say put a 136w utopia set up front since they are a 5 3/8" speaker instead of a 5 1/4"? or would they fit without modifying the enclosure? Thanks Tom Last edited by 943184dr : 06-03-2003 at 10:37 PM. |

| ^^ you might have to shave off a bit of the insides.... 3/8 is only 1/8" bigger than 1/4 (1/4=2/8"). yeah somebody name some places where we could find these at decent prices.

| Have you considered Dynaudio? Focal makes some nice gear of course, depends on your taste really, personally i think they can be very bright and in your face. if you like the sound of the mb's then i think the Dyn's would do it for you, a much nicer 'warmer' sound and more natural, seem to suit vocals and 'music' much like the mb's do, as opposed to Focal's which (imo) are more inclined to other types of music. up to you of course, just i wouldnt limit yourself to one or two brands, especially when theres so many around, and over there you guys have all the kewl stuff we only get to dream about ![]()

| yes IMO they are good for every type of music. Remember speakers is so much about personal taste that its kinda hard to say yes there good for this and no there not good for this. I think you can get focal's form crutchfields. Not sure though.

| no doubt, heh no one has the same hearing as you so what you think sounds good is what you should go with.. also taste in brands is a big thing, listening to music in a large sound room is OK, but it sounds 100% different when it's in the car that is the biggest thing you need to think bout usually though if it sounds real nice in a large room it will sound good in a smaller place. |
