| well getting any kind of audio equipment off of the internet has its advantages and disadvantages...the advantage would be of course getting the stuff cheaper, but you don't really know what you are getting until it is hooked up! The bad part is alot of authorized dealers are selling equipment on the internet when they are not supposed to because that voids the whole "territorial restrictions" idea where if you are the only kicker or eclipse dealer in town that is good because you are the exclusive dealer in that area then joe shmo goes online and gets the same unit you are selling on ebay from another authorized dealer at a cheaper price and all this does is hurt the dealer where you live...it has happened to me in several sales and i am getting tired of it...most reputable companies like eclipse etc will revoke your representation of their product as soon as something like this comes up...the other bad thing is that some companies are now saying if you try to send in something to warranty and it was bought off the internet then they will not warranty it...i have had a few problems with dealers on the internet claiming they will give a full backed warranty just like any other dealer would but for alot cheaper price...we have been talking to the president of a company we represent that i won't mention here and we have turned in a couple dealers who are undercutting us and all the other dealers for that brand and making great internet sales...so ok i am done venting that felt great to get it out!!!
basically it is a good deal off the internet but you never know what you are getting...im sure some people have had good experiences buying off the internet and even getting something warrantied they bought off the internet but the fact of the matter is if it is an exclusive brand it is wrong for the dealer who is selling the product...as far as the consumer goes they can do whatever they please! BE CAREFUL! |
