how important and diff between RCA brands?

Alright, how important are the RCA cables?

I'm running RCA's from an Alpine 9815 headunit to an alpine MRD-M500 amplifier to a JL 12W3 subwoofer.

What are the best RCA's? Or does it matter that much? I have a $75 gift certificate to circuit city, but all they have are Tsunami RCA cables.

Their most expensive 2-channel RCA set is like $70 for nickel RCA's, for "superior grade" I think it was called.

Do i use the gift certificate and get those RCA's or should I put the money in to something else?

People have lots of different opinions when it comes to RCA's. Some people say "just use the cheap ones" others say "buy the best you can afford".

I think that better RCA's do make a diference. I had a bad case of alternator whine in my M3. I just upgraded to Stinger's Expert series RCA's (best they make) and the nosie is gone. Remember, you're system is only as good as it's weakest link.

I'd personally stay away from any of the big chain stores when it come to buying any kind of audio equipment or accessory. Go to a specialty audio shop...or go online. Sound domain (www.sounddomain.com) has the expert series for $68 (ret. $150) or a 20' cable. Or get the audio shop to match the online price, that's what I did.

dont get shieled cables or expensive name brands like Kimber

get twisted pair and make sure the are twisted tightly at the ends

L/A and stinger make nice sets for $20-30 depending on length
