| Alpine stuff matches fine. The green lights on it will look just like the green lights on the AC controls. You could always open up the unit and change the LED's but that is risky and voids any warranty on the monitor. As for the DVD player, it wont fit in the spot you are thinking of because it is too shallow. I dont know whos car this pic is from, so photo props go to ____ |

| Going somewhat along this lines of this thread, I have a question about my own head unit. I've got the OEM unit, but the display is starting to fade, in that it doesn't glow as bright as the rest of my console. Combine that with the fact that I'm annoyed at having to go to the trunk every time I wan't to change a CD. Anyways, I've looked through Crutchfield magazine, etc... and want to know what head units w/ in-dash CD and that can control my changer in the trunk would come as close to matching the red LED's that are on my center console. Thanks in advance.

| i had the "fade out" problem on my factory head unit as well.. talked to several people who had it happen. according to the dealer, it's due to a loose solder connection but radios aren't covered under my extended warranty (how convenient) and they told me the problem wasn't fixable. then they told me i they could send my radio to alpine and have it fixed for a flat fee of 175.00 (but it's not fixable). i bought a used head unit off ebay for 50 bucks. problem solved. nate |

| yeah, i could buy a used head unit, but that doesn't solve the in-dash CD problem, plus who's to say it won't fade out again?
