How to import audio???????/

I'm using Adobe Premier 6 LE and I can't figure out how to import audio (i.e. a song). All of the songs are MP3s. Does this mean I have to convert the songs to another format or what? If so how do I convert them?

simple

i suggest creating a new bin for your music. then import your songs into the bin as you did for your vidio. then simply overlay it into your timeline.

simple as that. no different than you do with your vid clips.

where should i create the bin? does it have to bei in Premier or can it be anywhere on the computer?

err..

you must do something differently than i do.

in premiere you create whats called a bin. those are located in your projects window.

then you right click on the new bin and import your video or audio clip

then you right click again over the clip and select "insert in edit line" or "overlay in edit line"
either one.

i tried importing my music into a new bin and it keeps saying that the files are of an unsupported type. they are MP3s. does this mean i have to somehow convert them to another file type or what?

i imported mp3s. i dont know what you are doing wrong. worked for me
