JL Audio Stealthbox...any experience?

Anyone own these or reccommend them? and do you remove the rear speakers or do the subs go under them? thanks

Yes. I love mine. They do not provide audiophile-level bass articulation, but do an excellent job of filling in the low end without sacrificing any trunk space whatsoever. They do well with techno, trance, basically all electronic music and some rap, but every now and then certain songs will prove more than they can effectively handle.

All in all, I am 100% satisfied with mine. I am running decently powered MB Quart separates up front, so I do not miss the rear fill as the Stealthboxes get rid of the rear speakers completely.

i heard his setup a few weeks back with basic 8" stealths....great sound for what you're paying and what you're not sacraficing (trunk space).

na, thats good. I am just thinking about buying a single sub that is small and compact. BUT I dont wan to loose the rear speakers.

I don't know if there is one in Seattle, but my local Tweeter, Etc. sells them for $379, which is lower than a lot of group buys that I have seen. Here is their homepage:

Where the heck is the sub? I see the amp mounted on the L side of the fold down seat. Is that it on the right?

Interesting. I didn't even know there was a subwoofer in the stock system. Do you have the HK? I only had the regular stereo, which I honestly didn't mind, and didn't plan on changing, until the CD changer crapped out on me and forced the issue.

I think that Matt is talking about your stealth system... and the subs are in the two cylinders with the lighter colored material on them in the top right and left of the trunk.
