| Funny I was going to say the same thing... I can't imagine how an ]Analog signal traveling through the air waves could be concidered digital. Yes, it was at one point a digital signal, but it has to be decoded, then if you have DIGITAL processor, re-encoded. The quality may be better than FM, and damned close to CD, but still lacks far behind a fiber optic cable running your system. Mike |

| Its not possible for this to sound better than a CD player considering the sound will only be as good as your best FM station because you are still going through a standard AM/FM radio. The sound quality comes from the source not the add ons. So basically that digital sound is converted to regular FM as soon as it gets to the radio.

| "FM-Modulated" and "digital" have no business in the same sentence or paragraph. The only way to get XM correctly is to purchase an XM-Ready headunit, the XM receiver, and an XM antenna. Does anyone on here have XM Radio? I have the Alpine CDA-7878 that is XM-Ready, but have concerns over dropping the $$$ for an antenna ($80) and an XM receiver ($250-300) plus installation. How good is it really?
