| Car Audio Components Okay, so I've got a 318is without premium sound and the SQ is below satisfactory for me. I'm looking at fancier Shizz, I've already bought a Blaupunkt Casablanca CD51. Will that alone make any improvement? So the car audio guy is trying to get me to buy focal components and some fancy coaxils for the rear. He's also talking about multichannel amps. What should i do? |

| if i were you, i would get all of my speakers replaced, tweeters and all. and then after that get a pair of subs in the back, you only need about 600watts going to get you a nice boom. and if you go to www.crutchfield.com they can give you a lot of info on how to wire everything up and whats to look for in subs and speakers, but i wouldnt recommend buying from them, because theyll rip you off, if you buy online try www.sounddomain.com theyve got good prices.

| Focal speakers are great, but more than likely, way overpriced where you are shopping now. I would look on ebay for the Polykevlar series ( yellow cone) like the 165k's for example. Should be able to pick them up for $250 - $350. ALso JL Audio makes a great Component set...the XR series is incredible.

| i'd avoid ebay, because if the amp has any sort of fault, you won't know about it until you get it. Just like i wouldn't even ponder buying speakers of the net for the exact same reason. Shop around local, what sort of brands can you get??? Find out if there is a car audio forum for your area. As you might be able to buy something second hand from someone with abit of credit.

| Hey if ur looking for speakers get Infinity all around, i swear u wont be dissapointed. I bought mine at www.speakersound.com they are very good and respectable. the prices for infinity speakers their are about half off list price. And as far as amps goes i would look into Audiobahn, Alpine, and JL Audio. Audiobahn though does run expensive, just remmeber this if u live in a hot climate u will want ur amp that is powering ur speakers to have atleast a fan on it or some kind of cooling down mechanism so it doesn't overheat and cut out all the time. Just somethin to keep in mind hope this will help u in ur decision. late
