JL Audio vs. Audiobahn

I was thinking of getting a new system in my car and i was wondering which ones are better the jl w3's or the audiobahn alum12q?

go for the audibahn subs but not the model u posted......get the audibahn AW1206Q flame series sub.....thats what im running right now and it blows away the JLW3......I can guarantee that the Audiobahn subs are of higher quality than the JLW3 subs....well thats my opinion

the audiobahn subs are mostly for show, no offense, but the flame series isnt nearly as good as the 12w6's and the new 12w6v2's are amazing... if u were lookin into taht kinda sub also try image dynamics and brahman.. both very good companies... as far as the audiobahn the awt series, there top end not the flame series, is a very very good sub and would recomend those if u were lookin into that company

well hope this helps if you are looking for looks then go with the audiobahn they are a very nice sub at a decent price . jl audio makes a nice sub but have had alot of problems with them . they are overpriced for what you get to . if you are looking for a good all around sub get a kicker L7 very nice subs and cheap compared to all other subs to . well hope io helped .greg

Gregoe, I wish that you would stop bashing JL's products.....they are one of the most reputable companies out there, and they make a great product.

They do not have any more problems with their woofers than any other company, I think it has more to do with the fact that they probably sell MORE subs than most other companies.

The more you sell, the more that will get sent back to you.
Even then, it does'nt mean that the subs are defective, or poorly built. Do you have any idea how many people install their own equipment? Do you have any idea how many people DO NOT know what they are doing when it comes to installs? Do you know how many of these people use crappy amps, that either overpower or underpower their subs? Most people have no idea as to how to properly set gains....much less actually have access to an O-scope.

When you mix all of these factors in, along with the fact that JL is one of the top maunufactures of subwoofers, then ya, you will get returned subs. It does not mean that JL makes crappy subs, or uses cheap parts, etc.

I respect your opinion that if you dont like JL...fine, but don't go making accusations about them every day. I dont think that JL Audio got where it is today by making shitty quality car audio equipment.

And comparing a JL subs to Audiobahn is pathetic, they are to totally different classes of subs. If you want to go to a competition, burp your subs for 20 seconds, and then drive all the way home wishing your subs actually sounded musical, go right ahead and get the Audiobahns.......sure, they get loud, but they sound like ass.

JL has one more IASCA trophies for SQ than any other subwoofer company. The W6 WAS the SUPREME sq sub for years.

I am not saying that there are no other good companies, I am just informing people that JL makes great products.

if you had to choose between the two brands then i would go with JL but my personal favorite for subs is image dynamics specifically the IDMAX. mainly just because i find them to be a bit better then the w7 but for about 1/2 the price.

if you read i say they are good subs but yes i have had problems with them. Are they a good sounding sub. yes they are are they comparable to most subs yes they are. but like i said they are overpriced . you can buy a w7 for what 750 and up. well dont bring ebay into this cause stuff from ebay you are just looking for problems . well for half the price i can get subs that are just as good if not better in my opinion .dont go bashing if you dont want to get bashed i do not like jl that is good you do like it so leave it at that . i would not suggest jl to people i let them know that. you say it is good either they listen to you or me thats how it goes right. well anyway if you want jl get it if you dont dont get it . it is all prefrence on this subject i am not a jl fan thats that. there are alot of companys that are better. i wopuld suggest otherwise

I agree that the W7 is very expensive....too expensive for me, but it just seems that every post I read, you have some reply about how JL subs are shitty and break all the time.


As for better subs than the W7, what ones are you thinking of?
