| Radio Code Went to the $tealer today to get the radio code for my car, before I need it. Nothing like having it on hand right? $Stealer s I need to get the s/n off of the radio first. So in order to get the s/n off the radio I have to remove it to find the s/n. Which means I have to go right to the dealer (90 mins away) or else I'll be without the radio until I get the code, right? Or does the radio have long enough wires that I can get to the s/n without actually disconnecting it. On a further note, is there a code for the OBC I should ask for? Thanks -Z |

| Usually the $tealer won't charge you anything but if they really are a $tealer they will. When I had to get my radio code, they didn't charge me anything but that was just the $tealer by me. You don't have to pull the radio out and disconnect it, just pull it out and they look behind it and get some number and get you the code. If you had the radio tool, you could do it yourself and maybe just call them with the number. I don't think there is any number on the obc. Jeffrey

| There are two small square panels on each end of the radio facia. These pop open and there are release screws underneath each. The radio slides right out, no wires attached. The dealer did mine for free while I sat in the driveway. He looked up the code on the computer from the info on the radio, did the whole job in less than 5 minutes. Gave me a computer printout with the code. Not sure about the small tool he used to pop out the radio. BTW, I hadn't even bought the car there (Irvine BMW)! |
