| Where's the dynaudios? Subwoofer need not apply. I've noticed on this board that nobody ever mentions Dynaudio speakers nor yamaha components.... So I thought I'd toss out my setup to see what you guys think... Check this setup out.... Mains: Dynaudio Audience 70s Center Dynaudio Audience C120 Rears: Dynaudio Audience 40s IMHO, dyanaudios make the best speaker/price. I started off with just the two 40s as mains, and they are bookshelf sized speakers. But if you want to blow your doors off, put in the 70s as mains and add a solid center channel. They key is that dyaudio uses the same driver for all its speakers, yet the cabinets are different and thus the 70s have more base/range yet are still able to cover the highs and lows. I've never added a subwoofer based upon the 'Saving Private Ryan Test', in which I play the dvd and if I have to worry about my neighbors then I don't need a sub. They key was that I use the same manufacturer for all speakers so that they all easily compliment each other. Receiver Yamaha RX-V2092 DVD Player: Yamaha CX1 TV: Sony 36in Trinitron (exact model unknown) Purchased speakers and dvd player from Paradise Audio in Saratoga California ( http://www.paradise-sound.com ). I highly recommend talking with a audio/video specialty store if building a home theater setup and avoiding the nat'l chains (Circuit City, Good Guys etc..), except when buying a TV (they have the biggest discounts on TVs). -Growler '97 M3 |
