| HELP Radio Code! Okay, I disconnected my battery for some service. Upon reconnecting, the radio wants it's code. No problem, as I have the code cards. Well, the cards are wrong! I removed the radio and got the s/n and the correct code from my dealer, but the problem is the radio is currently in "Code Wait" state. The manual says this is normal for 1 hour after incorrect codes have been entered. But, it's been like this for 3 days!!! I've disconnected the battery again to try to force a clearing, but that didn't work. How can I clear this "Code Wait" state???

| can't the people at the dealership do anything??? I remember something like that happened to me- but after an hour I put the code in and it started working. I hope that the dealer would be of some help.... good luck

| this is what you have to do: when you are in "code wait" stage, you need to start up your car and let the engine run for a full hour. After a full hour, "code wait" will change to "code..." When it becomes "code..." enter your number and you are all set. This is just a security device so that if thieves try to tamper with the radio it wont work unless it was running in the car for over an hour...

| I know the manual mentioned "waiting an hour" for the code wait to clear... I've been driving the car for the last 3 days with this message, but it's possible I haven't actually driven for a consecutive hour. I assumed the time would be cumulative. I'll drive it around for over an hour this evening... Thanks.

Thank you Wait the hour. If anything when you get home leave your keys in the accesory position. Just don't forget! ![]() |

| WELL.... I now have the definitive answer.... Having successfully rejuvinated my temporarily brain-dead radio unit... It is indeeed suffifient to use only the accessory switch to wake it up. However it took more tham the one hour... more like two! But it even remembered my station settings after having been twice disconnected from the battery! ![]()
