| Check your books first to see if the radio code is in there. If it's not, You're going to have to call up BMW with your radio serial number and they'll search the code for you. Please note, that they'll charge you for it. $25-$40 from memory. You can find the serial number of the radio on the top side. To get to it, you'll need to take it out. If you're extra lucky, the code will be on top with the serial number. I hope this helps. |

| In my owners manual, it has the code written on one of the pages I dont know why BMW bother putting anti theft codes into there units, I mean is not as if anyone is going to want to steal one? ![]() |

| My security code isn't written on my owners manual... also the instructions for my deck show a different deck to the one thats in my car which gives me reason to believe that the original one was replaced. I'll have to get in touch with BMW once I take out my deck. I doubt the security code would be written on top of the deck (whats the use for a security code if they're gonna do that?) Steve, I've done probably about 1,000 kms since the deck stopped working.... no such luck, mate. Maybe I should spread some KY jelly on it... ![]() |

| Damn Vince, not the KY Jelly again mate... Did you buy the car from a dealership? If so, they dodged you with that head unit and you should go back and demand the real one that is meant to be in there...

| Do you think thats what happened? The funny thing is I have a stacker in the boot and my deck (an original bmw unit) doesn't have stacker controls... I bought the car at the start of march. Isn't it too late to go back to the dealer now? I've put an aftermarket unit on lay by so i'm not really too fussed about it anyway... just wouldn't mind some music to listen to in the meantime. As for the KY jelly, no comment ![]() |

[/b][/quote]oh ok i dont know then ???? i just know it was weird with mine it had the message "enter code" when i bought it and by the time i got home and turned the car off and back on again it was working !!!! mmmmmmm ky on the radio may not be such a good idea i/d agree with babbo if you bought it from prestige warehouse was it?? go back in there and find out whats up if theres a stacker in the boot and the head unit doesnt control it they've stuck a different one in for sure.........and no it doesnt matter how long ago you bought it !!! you'll find with a bit of gentle persuasion they will sort it out for you ps. you want to sell the stacker ??????????????? steve ![]() |

| Yeah, its an original stacker... I believe its made by Alpine... the deck I'm getting is a Kenwood - I can't remember the model number but it comes with detachable face, remote control, stacker control, all that sort of stuff... I'm slowly building up a system I already have a Alpine V12 amp and a pair of 15" Schneider subs sitting at home. After I get the deck, my mate's gonna install everything... I can't wait for it ![]() |

| oh shit vince ,,, um ye sorry man they are totally uncompatible if u are using a kenwood head unit u need a kenwood stacker ,none of them interact together and they will not work with other brands such as pioneer ,clarion, etc , they all have different operating systems and attachments even if you buy an alpine head unit they very rarely control the stacker and even if u find one that does you need an adapter cord which is like $300 the stereo shop should of told u this , i dont know what to say thats why i assumed you would be getting a new stacker !!!! listen if you want give me a call i can get kenwood , pioneer ,etc stuff at cost price ........a kenwood stacker would probably cost you $200 steve ![]() |
