Anyone know a good place for audio istall??

I'm in the city, but frequently in the N.W. burbs, and I'm looking to add a cd/dvd/nav unit to my '02 325i and I'm looking for a good shop for the install, as I'm going to buy the unit itself online since it's about $1200 cheaper. Any help would be appreciated.

Autosonics in Highland Park did mine. Its similar to what you want, I can post some pics if you want.

what did they charge for the install? Also, do your steering wheel buttons still work?

You should also consider Abt Electronics. I worked there last year and they do custom work to all kinds of nice cars. They have done many bimmers, they even did a Lamborghini Diablo there. I think they are rated number 2 or 3 in the nation for mobile audio installations. They were located in Morton Grove, but last month they moved to Glenview, right off Milwaukee Rd. The new place is really nice, you should check it out.

I agree that ABT is really good for installation. However, they have a policy that 50% of what they install must be bought from their store. I was going to buy an in dash dvd+lcd online also cause it was going to be cheaper, but they won't install it. I was talking to one of the sales people a week or so before they moved and he said that that policy might change when they move to the new place because they'll have more space and such... Mano, you should call and find out before you take it in. However, I must say that their work is really clean. I've had them install all my neon and its done very well. I believe they charge $60 per hour FYI.

Phat 328, what department did you work in? Did you know a Larry Konstantellos that worked in small electronics?

Abt is a very good place to get your audio stuff hooked up, I know lots of people that have had awesome custom setups from there, and my friend just had an Alpine head unit installed and is very happy with it! Definitely check out Abt

I worked in the warehouse over there, it was a fun job. No, I don't know Larry in small electronics.
