| Subwoofer delima Ok, I have 2-12in MTX thunder 4000's on the Alpine MRVT407 amp and I might move up to 2-12in Alpine SWE1241. Is this a good idea? I will be replacing my amp in a few weeks regardless. BTW Im running the Alpine CDA7872 HU. I am only considering these subs because theyre on sale Also, is there any interest in my MTX for anyone to buy them if I get rid of them? Is the Alpine MRVT757 a good amp to power 2 12's like those alpines im considering? |

| Well I went ahead and bought the 2 alpine 12's , now i need an amp...one of my local shops suggested i get the Alpine mrd-m300 and parallel it into 2 channels and he said i would get around 100 or so rms to each sub constantly...anyone else, ill spend around 300-350 on the amp but i want it to be alpine... |

| You can get alot of amp for $300-$350 bucks. Brand new JBL 1200.1's are going for like $260 on ebay. Cadence A7 costs about $400, I see alot of Crossfire 1000d's going for $250 used/$350 new. Look around man, there are alot of brands out there other than Alpine. Good luck though. If I were you I would get a bigger amp and that way you have a little bit of headroom, and if you wanna upgrade subs later on, you will already have an amp for them. ![]()
