How about a FAT discount on some JL Stealthboxes for my E36.

Estoril3 you're everywhere!!! Still awaiting shipment of the stealths...

Bigandslow...what do in-dash navigational systems run for E3s? You know that ones that have the screen that comes out and up to view the maps...would also like to play CDs on it. Thanks

PS...not looking for a price of a new car or anything (ha)

as long as you have enough depth it should work just fine. also make sure you have the proper parts. main thing is the changer cable.

Wayne,

You're right...pretty expensive stuff. Who do you recommend I have install it here locally? Still interested in some kind of nav system.... Is there somewhere I can see displays around here?

Hey, thanks for offering up on the info. It's nice to know that someone is close and even has some visible products to see. I am serious about getting some stealth boxes though. I just want to see what they sound like in Fast's car first.

Oh, do you carry MB Quarts? I need to find one of the E36 kits that they used to make. I don't think that they manufacture them anymore. Thanks for the help Wayne.

Estoril3, stealths are with UPS as I write this. What kind of MB Quart kit are you looking for?

MB Quart made a kit in the not to distant past that actually replaced the 5 1/4", and both the satelite speakers in the door. It is specifically for the E36. And I haven't been able to find one.

Fast, are you going to the Phillips get together on the 8th? I would love to check out the stealth boxes. Congrats, glad that guy pulled through and wasn't the prick I figured him to be.

Hey Wayne,
I'm a newbie to car audio, but here goes: How difficult is it to just change the headunit out of a '95 E36 and put in a CD headunit? I eventually want to change the speakers too, but can't afford to do both right now. I called one shop and they told me that it is not a simple swap out the old unit for a new one. He said something about having to rewire the speakers. Is that true?

Thanks for you help.

will a satelite radio antenna work in the tray in the back window instead of outside the car. I know that it says that it has to be outside but seriously, does it work inside?

325power, Mine is on the back shelf area and work just fine. The challenge is that you MIGHT loose reception on a very rare occasion. I haven't had that problem yet.

rayster: Changing out the head unit isn't really all that hard...geez the boys at BestBuy do it! The connector on th back of the unit is different and the wiring that runs to the new head unit does require reconnecting. Makes a great weekend project. I've changed out head units on both of the son's cars and more than on occasion and also in two of my cars....oh, also my folks 5-series...again, not really all the hard. Normally the connectors are completely different and this requires the connecting (cutting and slicing) the wires.

What's your advice for a sub in an e30? I have a 91 318is, and I wanted to get a sub in there, but space is at such a premium. I was going to go with an 8" bazooka tube, but I don't know... I'm only looking to install an 8 or 10" sub anybody know of any enclosures that fit an e30?
