Hey is it better to mix speakers and heard unites etc. together or stay all with one brand. And which brand is better for the most features and for your buck? thanks

I don't think you have to stay all one brand. Certian company's do certian things really well, and other things not so well. In my car, I have an Alpine HU, a Memphis Audio Amp, and a JL sub. Next year, another Memphis amp and Eclipse seprates are going into the car. Speakers come down to what you listen to, and how you like to listen to it, and how well the speakers can reproduce what it is you are looking for. Amps and HU's are different things altogether.

It really doesnt matter whether you have different speakers all around. A friend of mine has kohler 6.5s in the back and some other brand up front and two 10 RF in back with two different brands of amps.

As far as best bang for buck. I have most all Blaupunkt in my car and i have been really happy with it. My 6.5s bump good and my head unit is nice and has a lot nice features. I am looking in to buying some Subs soon so yeah. But I would say, blaupunkt and Rockfords.

I would go with an Alpine head unit and mb quarts highs, mids and lows. for the thump JL audio. Amps...well I'd have to throw that to someone else. A friend of mine is getting a similar setup I'll let you know what it sounds like.

The best speaker companies (MB Quart, Diamond Audio, Focal, A/D/S, etc.) don't even make face units... so, it is ok to mix and match. In fact, for the best sounding system.. you must. An all Alpine System would sound VERY good... but not as good as a Nakamichi Faced, MB Quart Speakered, Xtant Subbed, PPI Amped system...
