Can subs damage rear speakers?

I have two 12s in the trunk and two 6.5s in the rear deck. Is there anything to be concerned about?

I've heard of speaker surrounds ripping from the air pressure in the trunk. It's best to have some way of getting the air to move freely from the trunk into the cab.
Sound moves by vibrating air molecules, and having things in the way doesn't always help.
You can get foam baffles that are put on the back of the speaker in the rear deck, which isolates it from the air pressure in the trunk.

The 6.5s are jl xr650cx speakers. I thought maybe a box but they're not meant to be in a box. Any other good solutions?

Subs vs Speakers are pretty crappy combo, sorry. They might get damaged and most importantly they will distort for sure. When speaker plays and bass preassure messes it up, you get pretty bad audiable distortion. The best way would be to seal them up or make a good front soundstage so you do not need rears.

I just put my system in, when I put my subs in and played it boy did the rears distort (stock 85 325 speakers..) When I took the grill off the rears where jacked.. dust cover cap off on one and the surround cracked on the other, these where old tho and that most likley had something to do with it.

But yes they do distort, and I didn't notice much difference when I took my rears out, my infinitys up front are doing a nice job, but the highs are sooooooooooooooo bright mariah carey in my car is a no no no (learned today with the last nite a dj saved my life remix) ouch..
