| Nice amp by the way...... No you will not blow the subs....if you are careful. Make sure you set the gains right, and dont boost your bass, if you hear your speakers stressing, turn them down.If you do not know how to set the gains, take it to a shop and have them set it, and if they set them, Dont change them ![]()

Why is that so wild???I have 400 watts running to EACH of my subs that are only rated at 250watts RMS........Would be more but the ohm load of my subs is only 2ohms.

No, not overkill, its called headroom. Besides, your subs will play cleaner and louder with a little more power and you wont have to crank the gains on your amp till its almost clipping just to get the power out of it that you need.... And you can kill a woofer by sending it to much power, whether or not there is distortion. Generally speaking, any subwoofer that is properly made is not going to blow or burn a coil just beacause you send it an extra 100 watts, but if you start getting crazy with amps and subs(multiple amps on one sub when the sub is not rated to handle that much power) then it is possible to smoke your coils. You just have to use your head, as for the coil bouncing off the back plate....you can usually hear when that starts happening..... ![]()
