How to take out stock radio?

The LED lights in the radio of my 96 318i are very very dim so i want to replace the radio with an aftermarket one. However i cant take it out. Any info on how to do so would be greatly appreciated.

you should be able to use a hex key.

I have tried i have a whole hex key set, the smallest one is too small and the next bigger one is too big

should i get a metric hex set?
or is can i try something else

I have found a hex key to work so I am guessing it must be a metric one that I have. I have also been able to use a small flathead screwdriver that fit.

now this is just getting frustrating,

i bought a metric hex key set and the 2.5mm is too big, the next smaller one

which is 2 mm is too small. and none of my flatheads fit.

the bolts should not be all that tight, try wrapping some electrical tape around the hex key in order make it a little bigger.

Finally got it!!

the electric tape didn't work because every time i stuck the hex key in there it

would just peel off. So I stuck a tiny piece of tin in there and it worked!!
