98 328i speaker sizes.

What size are the speakers in the 1998 328i Sedan. I'm thinking about buying one and would like to get as much info as possible.

Crutchfield.com says the front door kick panels holds 5 1/4" speakers and the back deck holds 4" speakers, although I'm sure the rear deck can be modified to hold something bigger. The in dash receiver mounting depth is 7-1/16" depth; Size code E,S,U.

I couldn't find the size for the rear speakers at all when I looked. Aren't there speakers in the rear doors also? Guess I'll do some more digging.

From my understanding the rear doors on E36 only have tweeters and the mid range drivers are typically located on the back deck. The only exception that I know of where there are full speakers in the back doors is the 7-series. Seriously, go to crutchfield.com, go to car audio/video, click outfit my car, and it will tell you what will fit. When I looked it up this morning I saw a 10 speaker and 6 speaker option. I don't know what you have so I looked at the 10 speaker option to be on the safe side. I'm sure there is someone else on this forum that knows the E36 stereo setup better than me.
