| I am getting ready to update the stereo in my 850 and need some advice on speakers. Items I have so far: 1) BMW Becker Indianapolis Headunit 2) McIntosh MCC446 6-Channel Amp. 3) Precision Power DEQ230 1/3 Octive 30 Band EQ. I still need to get speakers, I am currantly thinking about 2 pairs of A/D/S 346CS Component Speakers or there replacements Precision Power 356CS along with a Precision Power PCX124 12" Flat Piston Subwoofer, but I have considered Polk Audio, Boston Acoustics and MB Quart. What would you recommend, I am not lookng for a big booming system, I want a nice clean audiophile sound. I have thought of a Rockford Fosgate 3.Sixty.2 Processor instead of the DEQ230 I have, does anyone have experience with one? What type of subwoofer box would you suggest? What brand of Farad cap would you recommend? Any other suggestions are welcome.

| A/D/S 346CS's are a really nice sounding speaker. I am a big fan. I also really like the range from Dynaudio. The Hertz speakers and others I have listened to have been better, and I guess marketed alot more than the MB Quartz over the past couple years in Australia. Five years ago it would be hands down Quartz. As for the sub... Phase Linear Aliante 12SI's make me drool. They can be had for about $1kUSD... alot of money, but so are 850i's =P They can take about 500wrms so plenty enough doof for a two seater. I would not bother with a capacitor... make sure your battery is in good nick and grounds are overkill and you won't have power issues. After I got more into providing as much SQ to my speakers as possible (still running SPL sub setup - Atomic Apocalypse 10's) I started looking into computers and sound cards. Top sound cards can deliver SNR's of 120db+ as well as the other bonuses of GPS/Music videos/Movies/Games/Internet etc etc... |

| Weight is a massive factor in my car since it only has a baby 2.5L six... I'm going with a sealed 2.1ft3 enclosure for both of my subs. It's a bit small, but will sound good sealed. That's the best thing about sealed enclosures I think. |
