| a few questions...alpine cda-7878, xm radio... okay, im looking into setting up a pretty nice system in my car... XM radio is a must, and mp3s would be verrry nice! i was looking at the alpine cda-7878 and i have a few questions on it...(http://www.mp3shopping.com/english/Alpine.htm).. it says "Versatile-Link Ready"...what is it? the alpine cda-7977 has it also, and says you can hook some sort of mp3 player to it...how would you go about doing it, and what could you add to the 7878? mini disc or something? what is Ai-Net? i keep hearing about it! please shed some light! im not looking into subs yet, i want to pick the HU first. any other recommendations would be nice, remember must have XM radio (or Sirius Radio if its coming out soon...if its not out yet) *sigh* sorry for my newbie car audio post, please forgive me! thanks for the help vou

| The Versatile Link uses an adapter to allow the connection of any RCA audio input (line level). Like an AUX input. I think the adapter is around $20. Ai-Net is a different bus that has 2-way communication. The deck has the ability to interpret whether there's a 6 disc or 12 disc CD changer attached and interact accordingly. I believe it also allows daisy chaining changers. Not sure about that though. As I said in my other reply, almost all the 2002 Alpines will have mp3 capability. There are at least 3 decks with amber buttons. And, there are 2 swing out face decks with a 1.3 DIN face. Some pretty cool stuff. They also have a few decks with all 3 preouts at 4v. Jay |
