opinions needed

I currently have 2 10" pioneers in a sealed bandpass powered by a 800W kenwood... and i am happy with that as is (as far as bass goes) I recently put in 2 rockford 6x9's in place of the stocks on the rear shelf... and those sound great also, but i happen to have a 900w rockford amp lying around so should I use that to power the 6x9's and the front speakers once i change them? is there any benificial factor to doing this? im not much of a audio guy as far as understanding the power of the amps/speakers... but the current setup running off the stereo sounds fine (which is a 52x4w HU)... so would it be worth using that amp?

The headunit amp makes more like 14x4. The 52x4 is maximum power and not RMS power. In terms of your Rockford Fosgate amplifier is it a 2 channel or a 4 channel. 900 Watts sounds very high to be a 4 channel but regardless go to Yahoo or Google or whatever search engine you have and type in the model number of your amplifier to see what its RMS power rating are at 2 and 4 ohms. If it is a 2 channel you can run your 6x9's off of it assuming the RMS power is roughly the same. I'm going to assume your mids and highs are 4 ohms. Also determine what your front mid and highs are rated at in terms of RMS power and find out what your 6x9's are rated at in RMS power. If I were you I would buy a good 4 channel amplifier to power both your front and rear spakers. If you think it sounds good off of your head unit you will think it sounds amazing off of a 4 channel.
