| Welcome to our new Car Audio Specialist: CarStereoPro Many of you already know Phil Chartier, aka CarStereoPro, as he regularly helps troubleshoot your car audio problems and select the right HIDs for your car. In case you are not familiar, here is a brief introduction about our new Car Audio Specialist: For the past four years he's been a Manufacturer's representative, covering the six states of New England (United States). He's also worked in retail for 12 years as well holding positions of installer, head Installer, trainer, lead salesperson, manager, and owner. Phil currently represents Boston Acoustics, McIntosh, Autopage, Planet Audio, VST, WAAV, and Avidworx. He also conducts sales/technical training, and performs the greater majority of technical support for all of the lines I represent for all of my dealers as well. Phil says he stands out from the competition because: "I am one of the few reps in New England that regularly perform installations, which adds to my credibility with all of my dealers." Phil - we look forward to your continued participation on the forum.

| Here's one for you: I recently bought an 03 M3 with the H-K system. I'm an audiophile but don't want to break the bank upgrading the car stereo--maybe $2k all in. I've read about this and am under the impression that the head unit may be okay but that I should change speakers and the subs/amp in the rear. What is your opinion of the BSW upgrades? And are there alternatives that I should consider? Perhaps I should consider changing the head unit as well (which would enable me to plug in my Ipod without going through what seems to me to be a pretty wasteful expenditure of $150-300 to install an interface)? Thanks for any thoughts. |
