| Focal makes a speaker called the 'access' line. They are the best coax speaker I have ever heard....(thats a lot of speakers...I worked in car audio for 10 years) But I am very pleased with my JL Audio VR seperates. They sound great but need to be amplified. So if everything is stock, just go with the Focals. |

| you want to pull out the factory pods and see if it is a 4" or 5 1/4" speaker in your pods (varies from year and audio package in the E36) I'd recommend the best speaker you can afford, keeping in mind the better the speaker, usually the more power required to make it shine. I like Boston SX series, Polk DB series, and I have heard good things about the Focal Access too.

| I am pretty sure your rear speakers are 5 1/4. If that is the case I would high recommend looking at the Polk DB series. You could go with the Momo series but I think those might require too much power for a plug in. I have them and they need at least 70 watts RMS. I really recommend Polk though and you should check them out. Speakers & Systems : Polk Audio |

| Umm....yeah....Polk.....not a big fan. Even the waaaaay overpriced MOMO line is so-so. The MOMO sub is the only thing that sounds decent out of that line.(I think) Its just DBs with a pretty exterior. Expensive Good Guys gear. If you are an audiophile, Focal or even MB Quart Q's (although not what they used to be) in my book sound the best. I have Q's all the way around my car with 2 MB Quart reference 12's and I couldn't be happier with the sound quality. (my Q's are from 2000 and the only reason they are in my car is because I worked at a shop that sold MB Quart....won subs in a sales contest.)

) and consequently my sub doesn't really sound all that great. My family is paying for half of an Alpine IVA-D105 and I am paying the other half.
