speed sensor wire location

i have a 97 m3 and i have an older navagation device that needs to be hooked up to a speed sensor wire and i have no idea where the computer is or which wire it is for the speed sensor. any help would be great

Computer on my E30 is in the glovebox, I am not sure if that is where its at on an E36.

i forget which wire it is but the wire that you need to tap into is in the rear end=speedo sensor 2 wire plug that is where my pioneer nav wire is connected to

not sure if the factory radio had the feature where it increased with volume but if it did it should be one of the spare wires in the radio harness, check with a DVOM to be sure, it'll be an AC current
