Need help on stock cd changer

i have an E36 325 with the stock cd changer and head unit that has stopped working.

i get a message on the head unit saying disc error everytime i switch to CD. Does anyone know any ways to fix this or am i going to have to buy a new setup?

any help would be much appreciated!!

have you tried a cleaning disc to try and clean the laser lens? that's what i do before i replace.

yeh the cd holder in the stacker won't even eject it seems to be stuck so i cant even use a cleaning disc...anyone know what could fix that?

I can't remember if the Credit Card trick works on that particular model.

worth a try though. take a credit card and slide it under the magazine, above the eject button, should free the magazine so you can slowly extract it.

hmm i dont know man, i changed out my stock setup so it would be easier to install subs.
