I went from two 10" in bandpass to 1 12" sealed, I am pretty happy with the single 12". I got a great deal from Elemental Design and have heard good things about them.

i would go with an 8" dub 7 in a ported box. its extremly musical speaker has great range and it moves 2x the air as a 12" focal. this sub is for any one who wants musical quality rather than quantity. it hits hard and LOW. by far the best sub ive heard yet. out of focal, orion, eclipse, memphis, and JL.

wow thx for all the help guys...but in the time since i posted this ive gotten a 1998 540i and i got a really good deal on a pair of Diamond audio TDX 12" subs.....and i can say i love em
