XM ready question

I am getting a new head unit and will be getting XM radio.

I am gettin those from different places. However I feel like the guy who's selling me the XM radio stuff is trying to rip me off.

I've heard that for XM radio yu need either.
A) the module made for your brand.

OR B) a general module made for ALL brands.

The place I might be getting mine from is telling me I need BOTH

I call a BS flag on that, but I have never dealth with XM radio. Any feedback would be apreciated.

You need the "general module" and the adaptor for the radio you have. The "general unit" should come with the antenna as well.

What they are most likely trying to sell you is the TERK branded XM Reciever, and the TERK to Headunit adaptor modul

Pioneer GEX-P920XM



OR this:

XM Direct Tuner box + Aftermarket Adaptor cable


Same price, probably go with the first one...

if I remember right, the Pioneer GEX-P920XM was discontinued, or in short supply. Either way, the Terk unit is in surplus and will be much easier to find.

Either one will work fine.

Now that I know more about it, I'll go back there on Thursday and talk them... was going to go Today, but humm, I just couldn't wait to instal the new exhaust, I'll keep ya updated
