i have my trunk lid dynamatted...and silicone injected.....its heavier but no rattles....

i have the same problem in an e36 coupe.. no bass in the cabin unless seats down, still haven't pulled the parcel shelf out tho, scared i might break something.. i've moved my subs around quite a bit, and found that facing the back, close to the boot/trunk lid is the position where the bass is clearest in the cabin, something bout the wavelength being right to reflect back into the cabin??

Have you tried removing the rear speakers? Also you must use Dynamat in your trunk.
