sub/amp trouble i have a 12" infinity sub with a 4 channel infinity amp, front to channels go to my componets in the back and the rear channel is bridged to the sub. when i turn it any higher then 2/3's on the headunit the amp shut down for a second and goes it to protect. the gain on the amp is 1/2 way up and bass boost as well. do i need a cap or a bigger power wire to stop this from happening????

| What impedence is the sub? If it is a 2 ohm, or if it is a dual 4 ohm and you have it wired parallel to the bridged circuit of the rear channels of the amp, the impedence is too low. If it is a 4 ohm single coil, you might want to check your grounds on the amp and at the chassis, and even at the battery and to the chassis ground for the battery.

its a 4 ohm single voice coil sub, so 1 channel of the amp bridged would be the proper ohm level for this sub? http://www.crutchfield.com/S-eqKKRc9...20&I=108R7541A thats the amp

the amp ground wasnt bare metal there was paint so i wire brushed it till it was all nice and shiney, same with the batt. terminal and connector, ran bigger wire from the amp to the sub but still no luck

i think i figured out the problem, when i bridge just the rear channel then it bridges the front one to and i have 2 speakers on the front so its a indenpendance problem

theres gain control for each channel so i can turn the rears lower then what the sub is, and the rear speakers are componets and the fronts are 3 1/2's that only handle 35 rms so theres no point in amping them
