2000 330ci harmon kardon

i know this has probly been talk to death but what would i need to do in order to completly remove the stock BMW sound system to transfer my current system into the car. Any write up's would be awsome....thanks in advance. Id like to consider myself very good with audio and electrical work but i know that once your talking about an integrated system such as the harmon kardon (or bose what im dealing with now with my nissan) its never just a remove stock headunit and splice the harness type deal
