| Usually the whine comes from a bad ground on the amp. Make sure the amp has a large enough ground wire (at least the size of the power, hopefully 8 gage min) and that it contacts a bare piece of metal. The ground wire should be nore more than 2ft long, the shorter the better. If it appears to be grounded ok, it is most likely that the RCA's from the HU to the amp run near electrical wires, the transmission, or are not properly shielded (bad quality). In this case you should rerun them, towards the side doors, because they are probably ran down the middle of the car. Maybe even think about upgrading the RCA wires while you are at it.
