Alpine 9835 have enuf power? I'm trying to upgrade my system and I need your help. This is what I bought so far: MB Reference RAA2400 amp to power the 10" Premium MB Sub (just one). 5.25" MB Reference components fronts 4" MB Discus coaxial rears I'm planning to get the 9838 HU. do you think the 9835 have enough power to power the fronts and rears w/out another amp??? If I definitely need another amp, which amp should you suggest?? Thanks, Hung Edited: Btw, my car is 98 M3/4 non-hk. Last edited by vafunkie : 11-22-2004 at 09:07 PM.

In any event like I said before, this amp will be enough to overpower most components, the high-current alpine v-drive series hybrid MOSFET60 amp in this thing is pretty unusual for a HU, also requires direct connection to battery. edit: If you don't go with the internal amp, turn it off in the menu and go with an Alpine V12 (digital) multi-channel amp for the components, you will be able to set the internal crossover in the amp, along with other settings.. directly from your Alpine head unit. You can also monitor amp state (temperature, load, etc.)

All I'm trying to say is that the V-Drive amp in that head unit is basically a clone of an Alpine 4-channel MOSFET 60x4 @ 4ohm "real amp."

So lets see, just for shits and giggles.... Alpine 9835 internal amp specs vs JL 300/4 amp Alpine 9835 internal amp Rated power: 26w x 4 @ 4Ω THD @ rated power: 1% @ 4Ω Damping: Unavailable (it sucks) S/N ratio: 80dB (A-weighed) Frequency response: Unavailable (specs are given for cd-player section, not amp.. tsk tsk) JL 300/4 amp Rated power: 75w RMS x 4 @ 1.5-4Ω THD @ rated power: 0.03% @ 4Ω Damping: >200 @ 4Ω S/N ratio: 108.5dB (A-weighed) Frequency response: 5Hz - 30KHz So which amp is the suck? Thats what I thought. Oh yeah, "deck amps suck".

Shows what you know ![]() 20Hz-20KHz is the generally accepted human audible range. Alot of people can hear lower and higher just fine. Also it should be known that frequences you can't hear can still effect how other frequences are heard. You got owned E36DJ, just deal with it. You don't know nearly what you think you do... you are just another Alpine zombie.
