| You should probbaly check your settings first to make sure the speaker isn't being overdriven or is clipping. Here's how you set the volume: 1) turn the amp volumes all the way down 2) turn off loudness or any other processors and set bass & treble to 0 3) pop in a CD and slowly turn the head unit up to 3/4 volume 4) slowly increase the volume on the amps until you have the appropiate amount of volume If you are still getting the crackeling sound, odds are the sub is blown. To answer your questions: 1) JL dose not warrentee products sold over the internet...there is a big disclaimer on their website 2) Refurbished equipment is equipment that has been returned or was damaged and repaired like new by the company. If you had bought if from a store it might have some kind of limited warrentee...but since you bought it off EBAy, your out of luck. 3) You might be able to adjust the amps and make the noise stop. You might want to call an authorized JL dealer and see what they would charge to send the speaker out and get it repaired. Might be cheaper then buying a new sub. Hope that helps! Trev |

| Who was the dealer over Ebay...store or private owner? Because I'm looking.

| Sorry no warranty: http://www.jlaudio.com/internetsales.html Thats the policy for almost all 12volt manufacturers. I suggest buying from your local dealer next time. You pay more but you would get the following benefits. - Real warranty, most dealers would swap the sub out for the 1st half of the warranty period, free of charge or for just the shipping charge. - Free tech support, most dealers would troubleshoot your problem and tune your system for free if you buy from them. - Installation, professional installation is available by most authorized dealers. I say most, because some guys do shitty work. remember, you get what you pay for. BTW, if you bring that sub to your local JL Audio dealer, they can sens it out to be re-coned for 1/2 the price of a new sub + shipping. I would suggest buying a new one from a local dealer, they may ship that sub out for you for free, and when it comes back, you'd have 2. Oh yeah, All referbished JL product had a R at the beginning or end of the serial #, all B stock have a B. If there is no serial # visible, they peeled it off. JL can still get the serial # since it can be found in the center of the Magnet/voicecoil structure. This one can only be accessed by destroying the woofer.

| Yeah, nothing quite like the experience of buying from a reputable car stereo place. You will get great service and they will go the extra edge to tune your system and do all the little things that make it sound like you want it to.
