Alpine CDA-9833 vs Pioneer DEH-P860MP

I am deciding between these two units because:
a) They play MP3/WMA
b) They are black to match my black interior
c) Similar price
(not in any particular order)

I dont intend on replacing what I believe are the stock speakers. I do intend on getting a sub or two installed sooner or later.

Basically used for RnB/Soul/Hip Hop with a little Super Eurobeat J-Pop thrown in the mix.

So now the question lies... which is better? I dont need anything that'll blow my windows out, and I guess sound quality is about equal. I'm more familiar with Pioneer, so I'm leaning towards it, however, is either of these two a superior deck compared to the other?

Failing that, is there another deck that I may have missed out that I ought to consider for equal or less value?

I have an Alpine CDA-9835 and I love it! So I say go with the alpine. It is the best head unit I have ever worked with, and I have installed quite a few.

Go Alpine they have always been respected in car audio and always will...its what im going to be using soon as ai get my E30

I have an alpine CDA-9835 and it's great. I got mine from a "reputable" audio seller new in box for $340 a month ago.

Same.....ok ebay, for $350 also.
I'd say look around for a cheaper price on the 9835 and pay the same as the other unit you were thinking about. I promise you this unit will far exceed your hopes/requirements for a HU.
