Alpine HU

I am considering buying an alpine hu, but i would like to match the lights to the amber of the rest of the car. Ive heard of people replacing the leds. How hard is it to do this?

Depends upon the headunit but for the most part it is not too difficult.

Gotta be competent about soldering on a Printed Circuit board and that is about it.

I myself have the Alpine CDA-9835 in my 03 IS300 and the amber matches dead on. The amber LEDs in my friend's BMW are very similar, if not the same, as the LEDs in my car. This head unit actually lets you tweak the 4 large buttons on the face to 512 different colors, so I'm sure one will eventually match up.
