dealer wants $20 to give stereo code

that sucks i lost my code too and i went to the dealer and then service dept...guy took out my radio, got serial # on back and then typed it in and got the 5 digit code....didnt charge me anything

well when i went in to get mine checked they was going to charge me $20 bucks, but then they found out the code they pulled didn't work nor the super code for most radios didn't work. then I found out my radio died. and that sucked.

No. Pull out the radio using the two screws, one on either side. There is a S/N which you take and call in to any dealer around the country you want, then they'll give you the code. I had the best luck with East Bay BMW in california. Give it a try.
