has anyone hooked up an LCD headunit in the E46?

Will I need any kind of special brackets to make it fit in the DIM slot of my old radio? Also can I make my steering wheel controls work with the Alpine IVA C800? Has anyone used this unit before? Any info would be greatly appreciated!

I was looking into this as well for a while but decided I'm going to spend the money on performance upgrades

hey dudes. . . the steering controls only work for Blaupunkt head unit. not for Alpine

There are aftermarket steering wheel control interfaces that will work with most any IR Controlled headunit.

If you use a standard DIN sized headuint (ie: flip out displays) they will work fine in a E46. I have installed Alpine CVA 1000s, 1005s, IVAs etc in E46s
