what brand speakers are good?

I have listened to a lot of speakers in my time and for the money and the quality of construction I would go with Diamond Audio. They are very, very good sounding speakers. They are very clean and have great depth at any volume.

never mind with the web site adress. found it and actually checked out the store today in Colma but damn they don't sell car speakers. The guy told me the store in Santa Rosa only sells car speakers which kinda sucks because don't wanna drive so far just to look at speakers.

MB Quarts are quite harsh because of the titanium tweeters. If you have money to spend look in to Boston Acoustics or Rainbow.

The model numbers depend on what sive of the speakers you want and how much you wanna spend. Magnolia Hi-Fi in Santa Rosa only carries two different versions of the focal component speakers the Utopias which are the top of the line ones with silk tweeters and the model below the utopias with a poly kevlar tweeter. Both sound amazing listen to both to see if its worth the price difference for you.

personally i would go

Boston Z6(around $600 on ebay)

These are the shit, i doubt you will get mch better than these

or Boston Pro6.5s - about half the price of Z6s but very very good

Other brands you could go

Focal 165K2P which in my opinion are much better than the more expensive Focal Utopia, but that is because the new utopias havent been released

Dynaudio 240GT, extremely good speaker, reccommended highly

Although i have not personally heard Rainbows speakers they have a very good reputation

I would go and listen to these suggestions above, and pick which ones you like, its your ears that are goin to be listening to them everyday not ours

Rockford Fosgate speakers and mid-ranges are really good, some people however don't really like them, but they actually are worth looking at, RF just came out with new versions of almost all their speakers, mid-ranges, tweeters, amps, and subwoofers.
