| hey thanks guys, i have one last Q. my cousin have a 1995 325is with 2 JL audio W6v2, and it sounds extremly good, a real sharp sound, clean bass, and nice voices, and the best of all is that it sounds loud, you know beemers are hard to get loud music 'cause of their structure, and i had 2 kicker Comp, that sounds really nice too, but my cousin's music sounds greater, and that is why i cant decide between these two, i sold my old speakers, and now i what to make a good choice so i can be comfortable with it, here in my country kicker is consider one of the best speakers but they get damaged in a short time, and JL audio is consider a top of the line speaker its even more expensive than the kicker, but they don't get damaged as easy as a kicker.... thanks

| Sounds to me like you looking for mids/highs now. I'd recommend Boston or MB Quart components since they're well known for high end audio, sound awesome (clarity with volume) and fitment is superb on BMW's. Thats my suggestion, keep us updated on what you do ![]()

| Sorry to go OT, but just wondering, in your details, it says you have a 97 m3 4dr....but i look at your sig, and the car doesnt look like an m3.....front bumper, yes, rims, yes, s/skirts, cant really tell.....but mirrors? also, side markers look like they are from pre-97 bimmer? or is that not your car in your sig? |

| look dunitt, every body tells me same thing what happend with the mirrors is that i don't like M3 mirrors they're too small for me, so i change them but my friends tell me same thing "put those mirrors back, men, are you nuts" etc. etc., but yes its an M3, i don't know if it's a different model from yours in usa, so can you tell me the differences, i bought this car from a guy that ordered in 1997 from the dealer i took the mirrors off, like i said, put 3 hid's kit (low, high beam and fof lights) they look awesome men, so going back to teh music stuff, bimmerpower, i just installed 2 mbquarts kits, 1 3-way in tha front and a 2-way in the back, they sound like heaven, those're kick ass systems, and for the kicker or jl those're for bass, i'm planning to buy this weekend, so i'll have you informed...

| there is a guy i know who is running 2 12' W7s with 2 1000/1 JL amps and a 450/4 pushing all MB components, in a 2002 tahoe, JL sounds good, but too pricy, i took a 500/1 to 2 12' Alpine 1241D, and its about 115dB not to bad for no money

| This is the budget system that was installed in my car this past December. Boston Pro 5.5's (front) Boston Pro 4.5's (rear) Single Kicker S12L7 U.S. Acoustics 85wx4 amplifier MTX 6500D mono amplifier That covers the audio portion. I also installed a Panasonic in-dash LCD player, DVD player, and A/V tuner. My system is not super loud, the best, etc .. but, it sounds good to my ears. I did not go with high-end audio equipment. A single S12L7 is good enough IMO. If you want to spend the money, try listening to Focal components, they sound incredible. It depends on your budget, I did not want to spend that much on a system, so, I compromised. Chose decent, not great stuff ... but definite improvement over stock. Plus, I listened to everything. I personally could not tell the difference between boston pro's and MB Quarts high-end series. To me, they sounded the same. The boston pro's were better IMO in mid-range. MB Quarts tended to be high and harsh to my ears. Focals sound great ... but, cost around $1K IIRC ... Last edited by jderry : 01-29-2004 at 01:45 PM. |
