Help me choose a good Head Unit

Alright, I decided against the Alpine-7998 since I don't want to re-wire all of my speakers. So, what is the best Alpine I can get that doesn't need an amp?

I would look into the Eclipse (fujitsu ten) These headunits are awsome. I found that some of the adjustment features in the alpine are not as good as those of the Eclipse. I have the 8443
Http://www.eclipse-web.com Not working but cartoys.com has them.
Very classy looking. And buttons show red.
For the alpine make sure that you get one that switches from green to amber/red. The ones with blue will not do that.

BMWRyDeR. i just bought the 8443 and its sweet. You can switch the colors from green to red like you said so that makes it all much the better. I can warn you though, dont deal with Car Toys. They severely messed up the wiring in my friends E36 when they were installing a simple head unit. But yah the 8v pre-outs in the HU are sweet, I totally reccomend Eclipse. Go to tweeter, they sold me that head unit for 365+installation(i wouldnt reccomend you do it on your own because you need to bypass the car's amp). But check out Tweeter!

Mike323is,
Glad to hear that you like it. Yeah I had to we wire the entire car when I got it but it will be easier to switch a external amp because of the way that I did it. Use Pro mode for sound, it is so much better than Pro mode off, take your time to get it so that it sounds perfect, therer are great adjustments in that setting.

i dont see why ur trying to get the best deck if ur too lazy to rewire some speakers for an amp which are...stock? a deck isnt gona help much with stock speakers and if u have top of the line speakers they arent gona sound good unless u have an amp running them. but to answer ur question the 9815 is pretty much top of the line. Comes with an internal amp and a gizillion features.

alex (I think thats your name syko), rewiring is not an option if you install a new head unit. I repeat, rewiring is not an option. Internal amp or not, you're still going to have to do some wiring.

Yah, I found that out when I went to buy a cheap sony head unit. So I went with the 7998.

Btw, I'm not quite sure what you were trying to say in your last post... you kinda contradict yourself.

What I'm trying to say, is buying a head unit with an internal amp will not prevent you from having to rewire the speakers. Basically, if you want to use a head unit other than the one that came with the car or other OEM one, you have to rewire your speakers.

comprende?
