is it bad to twist a pair (+/-) speaker wire?

I'm talking about the wires from the aftermarket wiring harnesses that I have...

If i twist each negative/positive wire for each speaker together ( i don't mean twisting the exposed ends to connect), does it cause any interferance or distortion? If I do this, It will be more organized... also, i always thought twisting wires together like that is good (the inside +/- wire in the monster RCA cables are twisted, as it is the same in telephone, cat5 cables, etc.).
