Make a Civic sound better?

Well I'll be a getting a temporary car until I can get my 330ci or M3, its free so hey I can't complain. Now to the dreaded task, its a 95 Civic DX, how can I make it sound better? I'm thinking about getting an after market radio but I don't think that'll do it. Whats the most inexpensive way to get it sounding good and looking good.

after market radio alone wont make the stereo sound that much better, if your looking for bass and highs, i'd suggest maybe getting some Subs (in a prefabricated box, or make your own) and an amp and if you want to, get some new speakers to fit into the stock speaker mounts

if u want a decent system start of with the deck. look at alpine or pioneer. any of those will be decent and u could get one for a good 100-200 bucks. for speakers u can get some infinity reference speakers or some Mb quarts. This will give u very decent sound all around. Look on ebay these speakers can be had for cheap. Then if u want u could get a small subwoofer setup. U could get a 300 watt mono amp for about 150 bucks and a sub like an alpine type R or a elemental designs K. these cost about 120 bucks. Make ur own sealed box (much bettter than prefab) out of 3/4 mdf wood. Also ull need an 8 gauge amp wire kit look on ebay or knukonceptz.com dont spend any more than 30 bucks for a amp kit. After al that ud be sounding very decent for cheap.
