| Hook Up Go pick up a Multi tester from radio shack. Pull the head unit out and disconnect the factory harness. Turn the multi tester to the AC 20 setting. Look behind the head unit for a good ground and touch it with the black probe...any bolt that has a black wire going to it should be a good ground. Just make sure grounding point you choose is directly connected to the frame of the car...can't have any plastic peices between the connection. Or you could just run a wire from the negative terminal on the battery.
Next take the red probe and start touching the contacts on the head unit plug. Eventully you should find a pin that reads about 12V on the meter. This is your constant power(yellow wire on most aftermarket harnesses)...it keeps track ot your radio stations and setting when the car if off. Use some masking tape and label that wire. Now put you keey in the ignition and turn it to the ACC position. Start probing again. Eventually you'll find a another wire that will read about 12V. This is your accessory 12V (red wire on most aftermarket harnesses).
Now flip your lights on and start testing again. Once you get a 12V reading label it as Illumination (orange wire on most aftermarket harnesses). This will dim the head unit when you trun your lights on.
That should get you all the basic wires needed to hook the head unit up. If you want to utilize the factory wiring for the sepakers you'll have to check the Bentley manual for your car.
Hope that helps. If you have any other questions, just PM me.
